Please give a warm welcome to the lovely Tiana Nicole, our guest on the blog this week!
Which writers inspire you?
The list is extremely long and almost impossible to narrow down. The very first novel that I read inspired me so much that I re-read the book five times. I loved the story just that much, and since that moment I would have to say Terry McMillian expires me the most. I’m also inspired by authors like Eric Jerome Dickey, Terri Woods, Mary Monroe, Mary B. Morrison just to name a couple.
So, what have you written?
I released My debut novel Deceitful Temptations January 2015 under my own imprint Triple Pearl Productions. My sophomore novel titled the Sacred Bond of Matrimony was released January 2015, along-side my debut novel Deceitful Temptations. I decided not to stop there by releasing my Junior novel titled Vengeance is Sweeter than Khandy in February 2015. I’m looking to publish three more novels by the end of the year along with a magazine publication, so I’m definitely keeping myself busy.
Where can we buy or see them?
Busy Any of my novels can be located on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, my website http://www.tiananicole.org, Books-A-million, and a wide array of other online retailers who distributes books.
Give us an insight into your main character. What does he/she do that is so special?
Bus The novel that I fell in love with along with the readers would be my debut novel Deceitful Temptations. My favorite part to write was the ending due to my loving the idea of Charmaine coming into her own identity and finally saying enough is enough, and I can no longer mask my pain in exchange for the price of fame and notoriety.
What are you working on at the minute?
At the moment I’m working on three upcoming novels, with one being non-fiction titled You’re Not the Boss of Me. The other two novels I’m working on would be What’s Done After Sunset, and Forsaken Matrimony.
What genre are your books?
I write Contemporary Romance, and I also write Self-help non-fiction, because I love the idea of bridging the gap between perception and reality.
What draws you to this genre?
My favorite part to write was the ending due to my loving the idea of Charmaine coming into her own identity and finally saying enough is enough, and I can no longer mask my pain in exchange for the price of fame and notoriety. For the Contemporary Fiction genre, I was drawn into it based on my own reality. I believe that you write about some of what you’ve lived, so I would have to say that this genre chose me based off of my personal life experiences.
Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
I would love to have Sanaa Lathan play my Character Gabana from my latest book Vengeance is Sweeter than Khandy. I believe Sanaa would be a fitting actress to play her character.
Have you written any other novels in collaboration with other writers?
I haven’t written any novels in collaboration with any other writers, however I’m hopeful for such a collaboration to take place in the future.
When did you decide to become a writer?
I’ve always been inspired to write since I was around or about the age of 13. I would write short stories that were intended to be full novels, however somehow I would tell the entire store the first five pages. I was discouraged by that particular short coming, and because of that I stopped writing as much. I officially started to develop a writing career in 2010. At the time I was employed as a Call Center Response Coordinator, and at the time when I was least expecting it to happen I started writing full time.
Why do you write?
I write because it’s therapeutic. I write because it helps me to understand people who I can’t seem to understand. When I can’t understand something, I create an understanding for it.
Do you write full-time or part-time?
As of June 2, 2015 I began authoring my novels full-time, in order to give my readers the best reading experience I could possibly offer.
Do you write every day, 5 days a week or as and when?
I aim to write everyday however life happens, and in many instances you have to step away in order to recharge the inspiration and creativity.
