So I thought since I have interviewed hundreds of authors over the years on this blog, that you would enjoy hearing me answer some of the questions I have posed to them over the years.
Each week I will answer one or two questions, if you want you can leave your own questions for me in the comments and I will try and answer them in a future blog post!

Which writers inspire you?
My idol and all time favorite author is Stephen King. I started reading his books when I was about 9 years old and fell in love with his style of writing, how he would draw his readers in and hold them tight until he was done with them.
He also inspired me to never give up on my dreams of seeing my stories in print and to see others enjoying the stories. You see when I started out I went the usual route. I tried to find an agent or a publisher who would want to take on my books (I had the first six Stan Brookshire novels in various stages of completion at the time) and time after time I got turned down. I had a few run-ins with a few less than scrupulous individuals (that’s a tale for another blog post) and I found myself wholly disillusioned by the way things were going but every time I was about to give up on my hopes of ever seeing my books in print I would remember the story King has told about his own journey to being published.
I will paraphrase it for you here: (from his memoir On Writing)
He started out pinning his rejection letters on a nail over his typewriter and by the time he was published he was using a spike to hold up the rejection letters.
If he could hold on through the seeming never ending stream of rejection letters and come out the better for it, then I could keep going too.
